Job Summary
The Production Planning & Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the production scheduling process within the unit. The supervisor is also tasked with optimizing labor usage to promote cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency. Through effective leadership and strategic planning, the supervisor plays a crucial role in enhancing production performance and meeting organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough assessments of production processes to identify bottlenecks and optimize workflows, ensuring seamless operations that align with demand forecasts.
Create and maintain production schedules that balance supply and demand while maximizing resource utilization and minimizing downtime.
Track production metrics and performance indicators and implement corrective actions as necessary to address any deviations.
Strategically plan labor allocation to ensure cost-effective and efficient use of workforce resources, fostering a productive work environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
Work closely with other departments, such as procurement, quality control, and sales, to align production capabilities with overall business objectives and customer requirements.
Supervise and mentor team members, fostering a culture of accountability and professional development within the production planning unit.
Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, schedule adherence, and resource utilization to management, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience.
Competencies/Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Capable of developing and guiding team members effectively.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while keeping attention to detail.
Ability to analyze data to inform decision-making and optimize processes.
Identifies challenges and implements effective solutions.
Flexible in response to changing priorities and circumstances.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to push/pull objects up to 25 pounds.
Required to stand for extended periods.
